Let us be reminded that whilst humanitarian assistance is needed, RtoP is the fundamental tool required in the defense of human rights abuses and violations. The Declaration of Human Rights, the ASEAN CHARTER & ASEAN HUMAN RIGHTS DECLARATION is clear on the issue of human rights protection. ASEAN's intention to establish an ASEAN Community would be meaningless if it ignores human rights abuses & violations. This is the only way available to stop mass atrocities. We must also accept that state sponsored atrocities require a rethinking of non interference and the notion of sovereignty. The lessons of Rwanda and Bosnia are before the global community to act for the protection of civilian population facing risk.

My mind my body my soul cry

The questions of why and why
The innocents have to die
Human beings want to control land and sky
Destruction destruction everywhere 
Want of care, kill and kill at will 
With absolute precision and skill
Thousands perish inhumanly 
Do we feel the sorrows of the family
If any survive to see
The flesh and blood splattered 
Ground, earth, river and sea contain the stories
Of those people who can't tell
Where has mercy and compassion 
Lust governs the human fear
They are better and superior than others
They can't be there side by side
Madness engulfed without sadness
Shouting sovereignty a license to kill freely
Blind and deaf to call for help
Paralysis of the process 
No right for access
Narration of lies and hypocrisy 
Made the world unable to see
The seas, rivers and land
Contains the myth of the human race
To uphold law and justice 
Human beings without care and feelings
Rule the world with weapons and guns
To subjugate and oppress
In the name right and purity 
To establish their throne of humanity without 
humility 
The community based on rule of law
Shout, observe and see 
This is the narration of human cruelty without justice nor humanity
Statelessness, denial and absence of identity
For everyone to see
Nothing can happen cause perpetrator strong and mighty

It is time that ICG be exposed for what they are. The narrative they made is interestingly supposed to look independent and balanced but in reality it is done on behalf of Myanmar to justify what the government is doing now against the Rohingya. Let there be a solution and not to justify violence. They have articulated their case without supporting evidence or justification. This is intended to influence the ASEAN Retreat.

Where has humanity gone

Blown by the wind
It's hidden in the dark clouds
Lost in the minds of illusions 
Idealism without concerns
Words and actions differ
It's just an enchantment
Empty shouts of protest
All a meaningless show
It is all hanging in suspension
There is still a desire for dominion 
Of the mighty and powerful
The weak and meek left like fools
Without any weapons and tools 
Surely become targets that everyone forgets
Bodies without souls lie stiff 
Lives have gone so swift 
The cries how time flies
But people will continue to die
Unless the world wakes up from its deep sleep
And honour its responsibility.

FBSHApost@18 December 2016: Let's Stop these Crimes against Humanity

Today we are witnessing holocausts in Myanmar and Aleppo, Syria. The call "never again" seems to land on deaf ears and blind eyes. It involves major powers, geopolitical considerations, national interests or the international order do not care anymore about humanity. It's just the issue of what to be gained. We are bogged down by process and procedures and perpetrators of crimes against humanity would use lies and fabrications to justify their actions. 

Unfortunately due to convergent of interests they can get away scot free. Anyway there is the bogey of Islamophobia and terrorism. We forgot the stories of the people of Aad or Thamud or the Pharaoh with their high civilizations, wealth and power they became proud and arrogant. They forgot there is a power beyond them. They were ultimately destroyed by God, leaving only signs of their past glories for the current generations to learn but then we don't seem to have long memories. We can stop all these wrongdoings with political will if we want to and let humanity guide us.

FBSHApost@15 December 2016: Responsibility to Protect (R2P)

Kofi Annan was haunted during his tenure as SGUN that he asked the question in his Millineum Report to UN, "If humanitarian intervention is indeed an unacceptable assault on sovereignty, how should we respond to a Rwanda, to a Srebrenica, to gross and systematic violations of human rights that offend every precept of our common humanity?" 

The International Commission on Intervention & State Sovereignty answered the SG by introducing the concept of Responsibility to Protect (RtoP). In 2005 World Summit (at that time I was still a FM of Malaysia), 150 Heads of State & Government adopted unanimously the RtoP. 

This principle requires each state to have the responsibility to protect its population from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. This means the international community, through the UN can use appropriate diplomatic, humanitarian and other peaceful means to help protect populations. (Book by Jared Genser & Irwin Cotler) by collective action in a timely and decisive manner if the national government fails to do so. In the case of the Rohingya population in the Northern Rakhine State the Myanmar authorities have failed to take appropriate steps to protect its population. 

The condition for the UN to take action has come notwithstanding the denial of Myanmar to the atrocities they committed, UN must exercise its legal and moral responsibility to act, which we expect them to do. The Treaty of Westphalia 1648 is no longer applicable in its entirety since the acceptance of RtoP.

FBSHApost@10 December 2016: Muslims' Life in Myanmar, Natural Disaster in Aceh and the Fate of the Muslims of the World

Saturday is another day and many happenings and incidents around the world. The sad ones are mostly affecting Muslims and Muslim countries. In the Muslim countries the armed conflicts among themselves often until total destruction but all these occurred and continues because of major powers national interests. The victims are the people. 

In Myanmar they are continuing the historical legacy of Muslim hatred and massacres. We just need to read and research the history of Myanmar from earlier times. It is not because of Rohingya being illegal Bengalis. It is in the psyche of the Myanmar Buddhists to segregate and discriminate Muslims. The monks further incite and exacerbate the legitimacy of killings Muslims. ASSK has often demonstrated how she does not consider Muslims as fellow human beings that can share the same sun or moon in Myanmar. 

Life of Muslims in Myanmar is worthless seeing the brutality & the wanton execution of Muslims. My worldview of Buddhism has completely changed as a result of what I saw. When I read and hear the narration of hatred and violence the hypocrisy is nauseating. Unfortunately Muslim countries within the region & the international community were slow to act which allowed the so called Democratic government of Myanmar to act with impunity without any sense of remorse or guilt.The allegation of ethnic cleansing has not been disproved. Malaysia has now begun to shift its FP from non-interference to that of acting within the international law, norms and values.

In Aceh we witness the natural disaster revisit the country again..very sad and heart wrenching. May Allah bless their souls. The living InsyaAllah would have patience & perseverance.

The pictures of Muslim sufferings are continuous globally. I am not going to be apologetic. Thus we need to look at ourselves and see where have we gone wrong. According to the UN there are 60 million refugees worldwide and 50% are Muslims.

As far the Muslims we are now witnessing the end of multiculturalism. People want to be pure and don't want to share with us. With it the increase of Islamophobia, xenophobia, racism & ethno religious nationalism, the irony of it all, it is only the Muslims who.are branded as extremists & terrorists. The acts of violence committed by others are only given the label of crimes or deranged individuals. 

This is the Muslim fate unless we wake up from the slumber. We need to live with respect and dignity like other homo-sapiens.
