FBSHApost@14 January 2017: Making Choices

Human beings are strange creatures created by Allah that has got the power of reasoning and choice. With all these faculties it does not mean that he/ she would make logical or rational choices. This is due to the fact that his/her choices could be driven or motivated by his emotion or desire. Thus, within this matrix of reason and emotion he can become an extremist or a moderate person. When he / she behaves in accordance with his lust or emotions, his actions and outcome can be worst than animals.

Life is about creating the right balance between the good and bad when making choices or decisions.. to uphold the truth and justice with knowledge and understanding. In the world today there are too many lies and the truths that are always hidden.

Killings, murders, atrocities are committed because you try to uphold convoluted justice, and truth when in fact you are trying to dominate or subjugate for your own selfish reasons.

FBSHApost@13 Januari 2017: Tazkirah Subuh

Tazkirah subuh 13hb Januari 2017*

FBSHApost@7 January 2017: Our Former Colonial Masters

Our former colonial masters have done a lot to change our countries territories, population demography and even rewrite our history... they have made our countries pluralistic and often made ethnic groups disappear and replaced it with others. When they left us we are asked to adopt democracy and bring justice and exercise power under rule of law. Today it is ironical when they fear multiculturalism and close their doors to refugees. They have talked about Christianity and civilisation when it doesn't begin in Europe. That’s what the world is all about.

FBSHApost@6 January 2017: POEM #2/2017

Living is understanding, it is a passing journey
It is only temporary
Your soul and body are partners
In togetherness
Moving in sequence
To count each and every moment
When the soul is called
The body would fall until it is recalled
Body and soul in unison again
Never to be separated in eternal abode
While on earth make it good
Be a friend to everyone and enemy to none
Happiness and joy
For you to enjoy
The day and night
The sunlight and the moonlight
Energise life with greenness
Foliage to protect
In your journey of life
The sky and stars for you to love and forgive
In humility to share the beauty
Of every part of Almighty
No pride and arrogance in humanity
Above you there is someone more mighty
Overseeing you in your journey
To the final destiny

FBSHApost@5 January 2017: POEM #1/2017

Imagine life without trials and tribulations
We may be in a state of illusion
We may forget the Almighty
Who determines life with certainty
We plan but Allah disposes
Time and space He possess
We may occupy what He pleases
Definitely with no misses
We may rule but He is the power
Who empowers
He has neither beginning nor end
As He is permanent
Who will sit in judgment
He is justice and truth
That moderates and creates balance in equilibrium
If everything is placed in its position
We then act in concordance with His creation
In our journey to perfection
We were created in heaven
To heaven we will return
So long we adhere to His constant

FBSHApost@3 January 2017: 2016

When I reflect upon 2016, it’s the most challenging, interesting and at times frustrating. Achievements, episodes and events that you can be proud of as a Malaysian or things no matter how hard you try it’s not happening or slowly changing. As a human being you try to do your best with honesty and integrity. But not everyone thinks in the same way especially those who think they are better. It is frustrating when someone condemns you to the ground for something you did not do or not within you to do. But then life is strange some people don't like if you are successful. Worst if you failed...Albeit Allah is always there to comfort and keep you calm. Think of others who are suffering worse than you in Aleppo or in Northern Rakhine.

FBSHApost@29 December 2016: Embracing 2017: Peace and Security for All the Global Citizenry

We are quickly leaving 2016. An eventful year for Malaysia with many anecdotes of politics, economics and security. It has been a difficult and complex year to manage. Many stories to be absorbed and analysed. It is just like the Clint Eastwood spaghetti cowboy movie; the good, bad and ugly. The good guys are supposed to survive but the cost can be high. Definitely in this globalised and borderless world we are again divided by ideology and beliefs.

The age of neo-colonialism, big power rivalry.. We are living in a cyber space where it is difficult to distinguish between truths and falsehoods...the world is being shaped and influenced by the way the players communicate their message…so much wealth and poverty... nationalism and identity on the fault lines of ethnicity, religion and culture....turmoil, chaos wars, conflicts and deaths...each side claims victory to uphold so called justice, liberalism, freedom and democracy. Even promoting different civilisations are being advocated with passion... there is less tolerant, goodwill and trust on others.. new terminology of jihadists, terrorism and extremism being redefined.. especially when it involves Islam and Muslims...sixty million people are refugees and 50% of them are Muslims.

Economic and political interests become paramount... human rights and its abuses are just back burner issues. Indeed it’s an exciting, challenging and mind boggling world we live in... where moral, legal and ethical considerations are less important. Individuals are fundamental to survival of the human race and societal interests are secondary. The appearance of non-state actors has dominated our lives and discourses. Political leaders at the helms of nation states are no longer the conventional and orthodox.. in a couple of days’ time we would welcome and embrace 2017 with more apathy as we are unsure what is in store for us... the human race seems to be producing more gladiators. Hopefully things can change and as we talk about peace and security it means for all the global citizenry.

FBSHApost@28 December 2016: Nothing is permanent in life

Life is so full of uncertainties. We don't know what is in store for us even for a few seconds. What more for a day, a week, a month or a year. Thus it is most important to make it fulfilling and rewarding. Remember the good things but don't forget the bad. Everything that happens to us is a lesson learned. Imprint them in our minds and memories. It may be trivial but worthwhile for us to remember or for others to remember us. Learn from our mistakes and have the humility to admit them. There is a wise Malaysian saying human beings after their deaths leave their names and tigers leave their stripes. Nothing is permanent in life but our memories can be forever.
