UNDERSTANDING THE QURAN

I was reading the writing of Sayyid Abul A'la Mawdudi on "Understanding the Quran" which I thought is relevant for those who like to interpret the Quran without knowledge of the underlying principles and philosophy governing it. It is important that we map ourselves of what we want to see and learn from the Ouran as it involves the hearts, emotions and minds. We must also know the Prophet s.a.w.. We must come with an open mind and not preconceived in order to support our ignorance. Understand the Unity of God and Universality of the Message. If stories of a certain era or people....is related in the Quran it is consistent even with the way we develop models as examples...stories of right and wrong, ethics and moral, good and bad, truth and falsehood, liars and hypocrites are of universal applications and true for all era and period....similarly the concept of justice and fairness and moderation and extremism are in the current state of the globe still relevant and significant to human lives. It is when we start to interfere or change the order of things that we get into problem or trouble. We can debate out of knowledge but not from the premise of ignorance......
